My name is Erica and I am a first year Kindergarten teacher living in Central Florida. This is my fifth year of teaching. I have previously taught second and third grade. This year in Kindergarten has been so much fun!!! I have 16 students who are very diverse in their own way. Since this is my first blog I wanted to introduce myself and ask if anyone had any fond memories of when they were in Kindergarten or would like to offer any advice.
I am doing this blog as an assignment for one of my master's classes and am looking for ways to incorporate technology into an early childhood education classroom. My students have access to computers and are learning how to use them.
I am a second grade teacher and have only taught Kindergarten once. I can't help but think what a challenge it must be to introduce and utilize computers in your classroom. I could envision children playing computer programs but as far as classroom blogging and individual blogging I feel that would be a little above their developmental stage. I think Kindergarten would benefit much more from technology such as United Streaming and Wikis.
